Data acquisition costs UK businesses up to £ 336,000 per year

A new study has shown that Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) cost UK businesses between £ 72,000 – £ 336,000 annually.

DSAR is when a person asks a company to view all the content on them. Following such a request, as business owners are compelled to do, can be costly, especially if the company receives a large volume.

A survey from The Data Privacy Group confirms this, as large UK companies are given DSAR at least 6 per month, rising to 28 for others. With each request for around £ 1,000, the price increases exponentially.

The amount of DSAR that a company receives most often is an indication of how disgusted its employees and customers are. Not surprisingly, coronaviruses and their effects on human activity and the way companies are able to provide contributed to a significant increase in demand, with the furlough system and reduced the services they promoted.

In order to reduce the cost of processing the request, the Privacy Policy encourages companies to use a confidential software. Not only will this help companies deal with the demand when it comes, but, more importantly, it will ensure that the business is doing well.

Many organizations stop developing a secret program because of its initial cost. However, The Data Privacy Group warns that the cost of non-compliance is much higher than the cost, and will save companies money over time.

Peter Borner, co-founder Group of data secrets, states: “During the epidemic, we have seen an increase in the number of DSARs produced, which in our case is often the result of unhappy employees or customers.

“By asking for the help of a confidential program, business owners can be confident that they are directing their requests in the right way and in the right way. For example, understanding what they are supposed to share, and what they are not. which may appeal in the future “
