Reporting to the Director, Financial Operations, the Financial Operations Administrator will be responsible for facilitating the use of the Equitable Bank’s web business banking platforms, executing wire payments on a time sensitive basis, monitoring daily payment activity to approved clearing lines, facilitating business unit inquiries to banking partners, supporting the Director, Financial Operations in establishing banking infrastructure for new products, coordinating the set-up of new bank signing authorities, and providing operational and administrative support to the Finance and Accounting department.

The Work

  • Maintains the various corporate Web Business Banking platforms, including updating of user profiles and access rights and implementing new wire transfer templates;
  • Executes manual and web business banking wire payments on a time sensitive basis, and monitors daily payment activity to approved clearing lines to proactively act to facilitate the release of any transactions which may exceed daily lines;  
  • Acts as the primary day-to-day contact with the Bank’s primary banking service provider to facilitate business unit enquiries to banking partners and resolve issues;
  • Supports the Director, Financial Operations in establishing banking infrastructure for new products;
  • Co-ordinates the set-up of new bank signing authorities;
  • Maintains the Financial Operations and Banking user manuals;
  • Actively supports the Senior Accounts Payable Administrator and cross-trains as back-up;
  • Updates Finance and Accounting’s Business Continuity Plan, as required, and coordinates testing the group’s Disaster Recovery Plan on an annual basis;
  • Coordinates Finance and Accounting’s records retention processing; and
  • Provides operational support to the department’s senior management team on an ad hoc basis. 

Let’s Talk About You

  • Have a post-graduate degree in finance or business
  • Have 3+ years of experience within the financial industry
  • Have 3+ years of experience in a related role pertaining to financial operations, including bank administration;
  • Preferred experience in Enrollment in the early stages of an accounting program
  • Preferred experience in possessing Accounting system knowledge
  • Established organizational skills with the ability to prioritized multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid relationships with other members of the Finance group and other internal contacts;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely;
  • Self-starter who will be able to work independently and exercise good judgment;
  • Detail oriented with the ability to perform to the highest degree of accuracy, occasionally while under pressure to perform within tight time constraints; 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (primarily advanced level Word, and intermediate level Excel and data manipulation) and internet/web navigation.

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
